“Real success means creating a life of meaning through service that fulfills your reason for being here.” – Oprah Winfrey (Click to tweet this quote!)
As one of the most successful individuals of our time, Oprah has a good grasp on what success is, and her definition of real success, void of monetary value, is truly in alignment with our beliefs at Greenbrier Academy. Success comes from finding meaning, living purposefully and achieving the ultimate goal of fulfillment through building positive relationships and servicing others.
We often rely on our given roles and responsibilities to keep us moving through life, but simply having those roles and responsibilities does not guarantee a rich and full life. It’s not uncommon for people to go through the motions of their daily routine just to simply get through the day, but those individuals are left feeling like something is missing which keeps them from feeling whole, feeling fulfilled.
Fulfillment comes from discovering your life’s mission and being on a path to fulfill that mission. Along the way, you come into contact with different types of people, and you will inevitably form a relationship with some of them. At Greenbrier we work to foster productive and healthy relationships with the people and the world around us. We know that because our relationships and understandings are unique, our life missions will be too. No one person’s journey on their path will be the same as another person’s; each person has their own mission which is completely unique to them. Part of the uniqueness of each journey will be how we server others. Serving others can be a guide on our path; let serving others be a gateway for a better understanding of self.
“Life is more meaningful when our goal is fulfillment rather than gratification.”

You can find a meaningful purpose in life by discovering in your heart what is important to you. One of the greatest feelings of fulfillment often comes from serving others.
“Only those who have learned the power of sincere and selfless contribution experience life’s deepest joy: true fulfillment.”
– Tony Robbins (Click to tweet this quote!)
While serving others, you’re giving meaning to your life’s actions by providing others with happiness, the greatest gift of all. Through helping others, you will begin to feel a powerful sense of meaning and in that, your own happiness will be derived.
“Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions.”

Relationships have been around a long time and are the foundation for society- at Greenbrier we work to foster healthy relationship and use them as a basis for improvement. We like to keep the Buddhist theories in mind, that each person achieves their own sense of balance within themselves and with the people around them.
We’ll leave you with one last thought right from us at Greenbrier Academy:
Find meaning in life: help yourself by helping others. Though in order to help others, you must first help yourself. (Click to tweet this quote!)
