Greenbrier Helps Your Daughter Find Her Truest Self
This school holds a special place in my heart, and I am honored and pleased to share my experience with your daughter and family.
When we consider the theory of strong relationality in approaching the young women we work with, we strive to look beyond the obvious issues that might present.
Instead we examine the deeper contexts of meaning and context that create, enhance or trigger debilitating beliefs and behaviors. Your daughter is not an “issue” for us to deal with, nor is she a “problem” to be solved. We want to know and understand her in the truest of ways and guide her to know herself honestly and in a myriad of contexts: internally, family, community, globally and spiritually.
By embracing and living this approach, I have personally seen the benefits and the transformative nature of approaching all forms of struggle and suffering from this lens. And, when I consider the journey that your daughter begins upon at admission at Greenbrier Academy I feel inspired by the words of Marcel Proust:
The end goal is the same for each of our students, to develop ways to embrace their whole self, the combination of their inherent weakness and strengths, to create light in this world. This allows them to become loving, functioning and effective human beings, and it ensures a successful future.
The potential is there, and the frame that our model provides allows permission and access to the ‘new landscape’ for your daughter and family.
