How an Ancient Tradition Teaches Personal Accountability
What does Greenbrier's Falconry elective offer?
The Greenbrier Falconry program promotes education and awareness of birds of prey and their vital place in a healthy ecosystem. Students will become ambassadors for the raptor species through public outreach and volunteer work.
Your daughter will work hands-on with raptors in the field, the mews where they live and public outreach environments. She will learn about the historic relationship between humans and birds of prey as well as the current renaissance of falconry the world over.
Working with raptors will develop and strengthen your daughter’s capability to connect and foster trust in relationships as well as deepen her sense of personal accountability. She will also be presented outreach opportunities in the program that can further develop a sense of agency and greater communication skills.
